Vieţile a patru femei din generaţii diferite: o mamă, fiicele ei şi soacra. După ce îşi pierde slujba, doamna J nu mai poate să-şi întreţină familia. Fiica mai mare nu a spus nimănui că este însărcinată, în timp ce fiica mai mică trece printr-o pubertate dificilă. Soacra nu scoate o vorbă, refuzând să comunice cu cei din jur.
