Nava de transport marfă MV Rozen se îndreaptă către portul de destinaţie când este acostată şi capturată de piraţi în Oceanul Indian. Printre oamenii de la bord se află bucătarul Mikkel şi inginerul Jan, şi ei luaţi ostatici alături de ceilalţi marinari, într-un cinic joc pe viaţă şi pe moarte. Răscumpărarea e de milioane de dolari, iar între directorul companiei şi piraţii somalezi izbucneşte un adevărat război psihologic.

The cargo ship MV Rozen is heading for harbour when it is boarded and captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean. Amongst the men on board are the ship’s cook Mikkel and the engineer Jan, who along with the rest of the seamen are taken hostage in a cynical game of life and death. With the demand for a ransom of millions of dollars a psychological drama unfolds between the CEO of the shipping company and the Somali pirates.
